Default tech ???????? bout my headunit

i wuz playin around with a set of 10s the other day, and my headunit died.... so i replaced it and the new one doesn't work... i think i checked all the right fuses but i dunno. when wiring the headunit up the red wire goes 2 red and yellow and orange go 2 yellow... or so the instructions say, but when i wire it up like this (orig config b4 it died) it doesn't work, but when i connect red to the yellow and orange and the yellow to the red, it works!... but i have no memory (so no clock, station presets, etc) anybody have any ideas??

ok...first off. what does your orange wire from the radio do? its different from radio to radio so i cant say with out knowing what brand you have. if its illumination, then dont connect it. now with that out the way, the red wire is your key on and your yellow wire is your constant/memory lead. hook it up normal and leave that orange wire out. see if that helps.

I think that the orange wire is usually, illumination.

On your wiring harness is there a larger yellow wire and a smaller yellow wire?
