Im designing a No CEL Light Test pipe and circuit and I need some help.
whats up guys. Some feed back will be nice on this one.
I make test pipes for various cars. I am starting to make them for the hondas. As many of you know in 96 uncle same came out with the obdii set up. It consists of a 2nd o2 that is located right after the cat. When you install a test pipe, it causes the check engine light to come on. The first sensor is used to control F/A ratio, the second is used to see the health of the cat. When you install a test pipe, the two sensors have the same reading causeing the check engine light to come on. I have made an o2 simulator for the twin turbo supra. It give a fake signal to the ecu. The out put consists of a pulsing signal which mimicks the second o2. I need some help developing this. I would be nice if some one with an obdii set up could let me take readings from there two o2 sensors with my scope meter while driving in the highway. I want to create the same signal that the second o2 dishes out. I am thinking of selling this set up for 150 or so. It will come with a high polished stainless steel, 2.25 or 2.5 inch test pipe and an electronic box that that comes with 3 wires. one for ground, positive and the other for the o2 sensor. I see that they sell obdii test pipes for 80$ or so yet it triggers the cel light. just causea fitting for the o2 is available does not mean your light wont come on. I live in the Davie florida which is in the ft.lauderdale area. I will hook up who ever helps me develope this thing. I would like to make it for the integras and civic too. I think the have the same test pipe? Im assuming the same for the gsr?
OH, ih ave an electronic dump valve in teh works that opens up at a set rpm . I wuld like to test this also on some cars too. This one is still in the works though, almost done.

I am an Aircraft Technician for Delta Airlines based out of Miami Interntional. I got my BS In aviation technology and majored in Avionics which is aircraft elecrtonic stuff like autopilots etc. Funny thing is that I forgot how to do some basic math like dividing decimals etc with out my calculator and that was due to complex math i struggled with in school. Hmm, i use to be able to do it in HS, maybe i should get a refund from my college?
Welcome aboard Mighty Mouse..
Seeing that you are a qualified aircraft tech, and myself being an auto tech, I came across some interesting thoughts..
Is it required in the official jet airliner manual to change the motor oil every xxxxx miles under extreme conditions?
What kinda spark plugs they put in them things?
Do pilots complain about stupid **** like.. " This hunk of scrap metal don't even go over 18,000 feet at full throttle!"
Do you think OBDII would be mandated in jet airliners? I would be kinda funny to see a 1457 code for a loose gas cap..
Have you ever "modded" the jet engine and tell the pilot something like " just wait until that hotshot dude in that Concorde shows up this time!"
sorry MM, couldn't resist
Welcome aboard and enjoy your flight

Thats funny bro! The joke im tired of is the one where your friends and family are like "what airline is you work for so I dont fly it?" But then when i get my buddypasses they are the first ones asking for them.
Believe it or not but we dont change the oil on the engine. We just keep topping it off. We only change filters every so often hrs. We do change oil in the packs, thast used to cool the plane and to pressurize it. Looks like a huge turbo. ANd on the constant speed drives that turn the generators on the engine. ALot of the pilots think they are god so I dont bother talking to them much.
I use to work at an autoshop back in 91 during my first year of college. It was pretty kewl, and i worked for autozone during my college days too. But they never had parts for my conquest TSI. I Now have a TT supra. http://www.geocities.com/darth_mouse/totaltrd.jpg thats my babe there. 80)
I think i found a ginnie ****. Just remembered that my friend has a 99 civic that i can hook my probes to. 80)
WEll i have to go help my buddy change a tire on a 767. Damn thing wieghts 400+ lbs! Smell you guys later.

Here is a link to a website that shows you how to make what you are asking about. This little device costs about 5 bucks to make and takes 15 minutes to put it together. All the parts can be purchased at radio shack. Hope this helps some. http://www.eaton-design.com/mustang/mil/
Hey thanks for that link. This is pretty good but im not sure how well it will work. This one is made for a crustang. By installing that resistor, your car will not go into the close loop right as fast. When I make my test pipe I dont want to have to add an extra o2 hole in it. YOu can actually leave the o2 out. This here is what I have done. Its all there except for an extra resistor that I added and a voltage regulator. After testing it, I got it to go from 0volts to 90mv at 95ma. I made this signal pretty stable so regardless of what yoru alternator puts out, you will always get teh same signal. It switches from 0 to 90mv like ever 2.5sec. Also I dont have that diode on the 12v input but the one on the out put flashes at the rate of 2.5 sec, this lets you know that its happy and working. I adjusted this one for a twin turbo supra. My o2 has 3 wires instead of 4 so there is no 450mv reference as in that one page. I put like 12$ into it and about 2hr assembling it. I put this on my site: http://www.geocities.com/darth_mouse/o2sim.jpg
Yahoo really sucks when it comes to posting links. If you click on the link that i posted above it will give you a site not found message. You have to cut and paste it. This here is my babe. http://www.geocities.com/darth_mouse/totaltrd.jpg
