I have a 99 civic si and i took the cat- converter out and replaced it with a skunk 2 test pipe. Check engine light came on because of the o2 sensor. Purchased an o2 simulator and got the code cleared. about 9 hours later with minimal driving my check engine light came back on..... any ideas????
Apparently, the o2 simulator problem you experienced is very common. One thing you might wanna try is the spark plug defouler trick. Here it is...
1) go to your auto parts store and buy Help brand 18mm anti-foulers (part #42009 is the one I bought)
2) drill out the end with the small hole on <U>one</U> of the defoulers to 1/2 inch, do not drill both
3) mount the one with the enlarged whole into the bung on the pipe (if no bung, get one welded in), mount the other defouler inside the mounted one and then mount the o2 sensor into the non-drilled defouler
This is a common practice for obd2 people running test pipes.
Good luck

Yes, you will still need an o2 sensor if your car is obd2. You can either try an electronic o2 simulator or the spark plug anti-fouler trick.

Oh, I just noticed the signature in the post before me. Do they work correctly? Hard to install?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Honestly, I never used mine. I bought a motor swap that is obd1 before I ever got around to doing anything with my test pipe's o2 sensor problem. I've heard both good and bad feed back about them....kinda hit & miss.
im me if you want a one that was never used for super cheap...$15 shipped and here is where I bought it...
