Default Intercooler and water = bad?

I was wonder if a front mount intercooler can suck up water, like a cold air intake, and damage the engine. Would water being splashed onto the cooler be harmful as if i was driving in the rain or hit a puddle or something? Thanks

As long as you dont have a leak theres no way water can get in except for the endtanks. Water would actually just cool the charge. Think of it as a radiator for air...water splashed on your radiator doesn't go into your coolant right? same concept. hope this helps

the intercooler isn't an intake.

would not hold pressure either, thus you would never build boost if it had any intake function.

it works like a radiator, except air/air.. just make sure to keep an eye on all connections so nothing comes loose.
