Front Mount Intercooler + Water
I don't know how this works. If i drive in rain, puddles, will water get through the intercooler, especially if i'm not in boost?
Can someone explain?

Re: Front Mount Intercooler + Water (vtec.dc2)
The Front Mount Intercooler is meant to cool down charged air. the intercooler is NOT an intake, it is a cooler. Similar to a Radiator, except it is cooling air.

Water will not get into the cooler.
It's like a radiator, except it's not fillled with water, it's filled with air. If you go through a puddle now, will water get into your radiator?
See what I mean?
I don't even know if that makes sense.

ur thinking of the APC (American Piece of Crap) front mount intake. intercooler is all closed and only opening is a hole to connect from turbo and another hole to connect to ur intake manifold

in some threads, people mentioned painting intercoolers might reduce the efficiency of intercooler, so i thought paint might get through or something,
From what I know, heat from compressed air exits the intercooler, - maybe paint might create a coat preventing heat from exiting.. - not paint going in..

You dont want to prevent the heat from excaping, altough I'm not sure if powdercoating an intercooler will make it retain more heat. The intercooler is SUPPOSED to let the air flowing INSIDE it to be cooled by the air flowing onto the cooling fins OUTSIDE the IC.
