Default Tires on the wrong way!

Hi guys. This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering if you mount a directional tire onto a wheel the wrong way, or in other words, backwards, and it is spinning opposite from the way it is meant to rotate, would it cause any handling problems or unnessesary wear to the tire? Thanks in advance.

It will wear out extremely quickly, give it about a month and its probably gone.

My sister had tires mounted on her car and they did it wrong and she never noticed. So they wore out extremely fast.

Of course, you could always drive in reverse, then the tires would wear normally.

I dunno that they'd so much wear differently, because I had 3 passenger side wheels for some time before I noticed that the people who put my wheels on had put one to many on going one way.....nothing hurt. Just got it pulled off the rim and remounted.

Now, as for problems, I'd say the biggest one is that it won't be as stable on water, (Hydroplane..yay)....and also the wear issue (but I wouldn't care so much about that).

you can jack up the car and just swap left/right wheels.

Thanks for the info, guys. I have swapped the left and right sides. The thing is, when I took them off, I noticed that the tread was really worn and I had to make sure that it wasn't my toe that was misaligned. After I put them on the right way, the car didn't pull left or right anymore like it did when the wheels/tires were on wrong. So I think that letting them rotate in the wrong direction made the tires wear out much quicker and it also affected the handling.
