I got my car out a while ago and just put in new oil but 3 months after that the oil seem too be very dark like its been in there for a long time? It looks dirty as well, could there be like some kind of a leak of some sort?

you have a very dirty engine. when was the last time that you had it flused? if you dont know get it done. the dealership will rape you on it. go to a jiffy lube or something. should be about $80. it will clear things up a bit.

well it depends on how hard you drive. do you hit vtec often? it would also help if you mention what brand of motor oil you're using.

also if any, the previous owner of your car didn't follow up on maintenence schedules.

well i drive my car pretty hard, vtec almost everyday, I push it to 7k at least once a day but that was when i didn't have any electrical problem and that's been like 2 to 3 months. I'm using Mobile 1 synthedic oil at the moment i think its 10w-30 or 40 . The maintnece is there im the second owner of the car and the motor was stripped out and then put all back together.

3 months ago? Oil, like anything else, degardes with time. Simply b/c it's not exposed to high heat, it still breaks down at room temp. I can't believe you say that it looks really dark, yet you say it's been in there for 3 months-- all within the same sentance. Change your oil, problem solved. Just because the oil's synthetic, doesn't mean it's got preservatives.
