Clutch Issues (bad master cylincer?)
So I'm driving my car and going somewhat fast when I put the clutch in and shift. As I release the clutch and hit the gas I notice that the clutch didn't completely let go. The rpm rise and then finally catch. I pulled over immediatly and checked a few things out. The major thing I noticed is that there weren't any leaks as far as the clutch lines are concerned. I also checked the resovior and it was full. The pedal now feels real mushy but has a little force left in it, so I was able to drive it home. All this leads me to beleave that I have a bad master cylinder. As far as my actual clucth goes I know it only has 15k on it (stage 2 clutchnet clutch). Please let me know what you guys think it would be. Also if anyone has any Idea of what they have paid for this part let me know. Thanks a lot!
bleed the entire system, start w/ the clutch master cylinder and then the slave cylinder. and make sure the slave cylinder is not leaking. if that does not solve the problem then find a way to pinch the line that leads to the slave cylinder. then step on the clutch, if the pedal is stiff then the clutch master cylinder is ok and the problem must be a leak in the line or the slave cylinder. if it is soft and travels all the way down to the floor then replace the clutch master cylinder. i personally would change the slave cylinder as well. you would also need an assistant to press on the clutch to bleed the system. good luck
My car has a bad slave cylinder, it leaks out the fluid frequently making me have a dead clutch in no time. I'm purchasing a new slave cylinder, does anyone know how hard it is to install it or what I need to look out for?
