well i went to the track tonite and it sucked. what the hell did i do wrong
well here are my times. i know the flaming is going to begin but please try to help me out. My launch was at 4500 at 22psi with vtec kicking in at 5300..
mods aem cai, tanabe cat back exhaust, comptech 4-2-1 header, dc sports short throw shifter apexi vafc stock(stock settings lowered vtec) running on federal tires 17'' 205/40r/17 please help me out for the future

It's all in your launch - try lowering the psi a few more pounds or slip/feather the clutch. You could also launch higher, at 7k or so, that's what I do. I slip it from 7k with 17 pounds in the front.
2.78 is really high, generally 2.2 - 2.3 is average. Just practice, you'll improve. I improved every consecutive time I went for my first 5 times.

Along with improving your 60ft times the 17 inch wheels are not helping your cause either. Throw on the stock rims for the drag strip if you want better times.
Practice man. You want to give an initial jolt off the line to get the car moving, without doing a huge burnout, and then feather the clutch until you're screaming. Try launching around 6k while feathering.

ON my Te37 17's. Michelin Pilot sport tires I was able to get a 2.2 60 ft launching at 6200. Ran a 14.29@98. Aem, Comptech Header, Spoon axle back. This was at sea level. The 17's I agree can be improved on, although I would have to hit the brakes hard to go that slow.
