Home compression tester kit.
Need help. I need to know how to run a home compression test kit. I called pep boys and they said you remove one of the spark plugs and plug it into that and crank the car or something. I dont really understand what they mean. can someone plz help out? I need to know by thursday because i'm going to do a compression test on a car I might possibly buy. its a 1999 lude 5 speed with a JRSC on it. has 57k miles total. wanna make sure the engine is in ok condition before I buy. Thanks! - Matt
ude its pretty easy.. just take out a spark plug, screw in the compression tester... and crank the engine a few times, helps to have 2 people, that way one can watch the guage on the compression tester and the other can crank the car. when the needle on the guage stops goin up, stop crnakin...repeat on all the other spark plug holes... simple
