Default whp question?

i have a 97 base model and i just wanted to know what the stock whp is? i know preludes have around 200 hp to the crank or flywheel which ever one it is, and i heard you were suppose to subtract anywhere from 10-20 hp from that. the only mod i have right now is a aem cai which i wouldnt expect to give more than 1 or 2 hp. if someone could please tell me what my lude is making at the wheels i would apprechiate it.

1997 lude is 195 stock at the fly wheel, and about 150 to 160 at the front wheels on a dyno-jet dyno.

well they say whp is about 85% of the factory rating on manual cars and about 80% of the factory rating for autos
when i dynoed my 95 h22 motor i dynoed 169whp stock
195 x 85% = 165.75
so you see it is pretty close

haha nooooo no USDM prelude makes 170whp. 165 is the most you will see. Flywheel ratings are made up by honda, the H22a has always been 190hp, they just 'added' flywheel hp. Both engines hit the same whp numbers...

wouldnt you say my calculation is close enough....if you look at my post the calculations equalled 165.75...which is what you are saying...i just said that my motor made 169whp but it is usually in the mid 160 range[QUOTE=satan_srv]

Don't forget the ATTS steals some power, so you probably have somewhere around 160whp. Like Satan said, no stock Prelude puts down 170whp stock.

usually a good formula to follow is subtracting 15% from the hp at the flywheel. give or take 1 or 2%. that leaves you with about 165 whp.
