Default lost hp?

I was lookin through threads and came across the one with the assload of dyno sheets... now it was my understanding that a base 97+ lude has around 200 hp... but looking at these read-outs most people are around 170... so what does the average 97-01 prelude actually have?

The 200hp is rated at the flywheel.

170 is hp at the wheels. or whp. 200 is at the flywheel..

Like others have said, 200hp is hp rated at the flywheel. Some of that hp is lost through the drivetrain before it's actually available to spins the wheels. FWD cars lose about 15% of the engine's hp through the drivetrain, and RWD cars lose even more.

Some great advice I can give you.....Don't try to compare Dyno numbers unless they are from the same car, same day, same dyno, same weather.......
Stock Preludes will make 155-162whp on my local dyno......
Average i/h/e Preludes(H22) will make 173-178whp tuned.....
ALL DYNOs READ DIFFERENT!!!

The USDM 97-98 Prelude was rated at 190 to the crank, not 200. In 99, it was raise to 195 due to a slightly more aggressive cam.

I believe thats incorrect......ALL H22A4 cams are the same. Ever Base/SH
The extra claimed power was BS once the car hit the dyno.....In my experience I have NOT seen 99-01 Preludes make more power than 97-98's.

^ not to mention he was wrong about the claims anyway

the h22 in the 4th gen was rated at 190
the h22 in the 97-98 was rated at 195
and the h22 in the 99-01 was rated at 200

those were the flywheel claims anyway

I am pretty much 5th gen illiterate.....
Was it header design? I guess that would explain NOT seeing differences between modded 97-98 and 99-01. I know my JDM motors make more TQ every time.
