Default Motul Oil Viscosities - Which one for my ITR

I'm running a pretty much stock ITR and I have really good prices on these oils but I don't know them. These are the competition oils that I can get. My quesiton is which one will be best for my car.

300 V POWER RACING 5W30
300 V POWER 5W40
300 V CHRONO 10W40
300 V COMPETITION 15W50
300 V LE MANS 15W60
100% SYNTHESE (synthetic?)

I'd pick the 300V 5W40.

Wanna share with the rest of us how much you are getting Motul products for?

why would you go with a 40 weight oil? i really dont even think you would notice a difference with the heavier weight...but just curious.

Less oil consumption, better lubrication at high temps.....

but heavier weight oil...increased viscosity...possible decrease in engine efficiency, thus reducing power output. but this is probably a mute point anyway, because i doubt you would notice the change in oil weight...and the possible benefits of added lubrication would be great.

In the end it all depends on what you do with your car and what the ambient and engine temp. is. For each situation there is an optimal viscosity, so you'll have to find your own compromise if you don't want to change the oil at every situation....

I burn equal amounts of 5w30, 10w30, and 15w40. This may be due to the types of oil I'm using.... but I can't say for sure.

Im getting doing the oil change for about $50 with of course the oil filter. Im in switz and my friend is a mechanic who gets discounts on motul products.

i was running 0w50 and it burnt in high temperatures. Now Im just running 10w40 and bearly any oil has burnt. So far Im leaning towards 10w40. What do you run in your ITR?

Man that just sucks that I will have to arrange a group buy for a barrel of Motul then!

Hahaa..no big deal.

I currently run on Mobil 1 10W30 and could not justify trying Motul especially their 300V line. I haven't been able to find it at a price I could afford particularly on my motor that consumes oil voraciously.

I stocked up on the Mobil 1 since it was cheap, (thanks Wal-mart) and with my R going into storage ...I doubt I will get a chance to try Motul anytime soon.

Personally I'd run the 300 V 5w30, seein as the car is pretty much stock as you said, and being a HONDA technician as I am, 5w30 is whats called for in that engine.

ive been sugested to put 5w40. We have cold winters and I use my ITR daily. However the summers are hot so 30 seems a bit low...

5w30 is oem recommended.

ITR + High Rev's + Hot Day (At track of course) = need for higher temp oil. so 5w 40 is my pick for super NA racing! High performance boosted motor needs even more heat protection... a 5w50 would be best, but you have not listed a 5w50 so nevermind.

Yes I agree. My Motul dealer even said I should get a higher temp oil if I was doing track work to any significant degree.

If you don't burn oil using 5w30, there's no reason not to use it. Otherwise try a 40 weight, IMO.
