Default Junkyard turbo suggestions

I've got a b16a and I do a bit of AutoX and I'd like roughly 250whp minimum.
I was planning on using a T3 from a ford t-bird or Merkur.
Can you suggest another turbo that would fit my needs and be in the same price range?
What about a T3 from a saab or Chrysler?

Whats your price range?
Go to cheapturbo.com to get a good price on a new t3t4 (.57 trim .63 a/r works good for me)
You'll have a hard time making 250+ whp with a turbo from a saab or chrysler, trust me I had one.
It's just to small (.42 cold side .48 hot)

maybe even a little smaller like a .48 a/r .50 trim may suit you a little better because it will spool a little quicker to get you the power you need down low.

stay with the .60 trim T3 from the ford/merkur camp....the one on the saabs is just a .48 trim and will max spool out long before the power curve of your engine..

the T3 on the chryslers use an offset pattern and are even harder to use and have .48 trim also....

yep, only difference between the saab/volvo T3's and the "super60" T3 is that the super60 is oil cooled only. however, you honestly don't need to run the coolant lines on the saab/volvo turbos...just get some plug fittings for them and run it oil cooled only.

Just about all production cars that have oil and coolant lines are only to maximize the life in the turbocharger itself (150,000miles vs. 75,000miles) before rebuild or seizing.

me and my friends go get the saab/volvo turbos all the time, plug the coolant passages and run them oil cooled only without problems!

.48/.42 ratios are perfect for a D-series but I stay with my recommendation of the .60/.42 ratio T3 from the t-bird/merkur/cougar/svo mustang

Thats not correct. The Super60 has a better compressor wheel than the 60trim wheel found on those turbos

Its actually a 60/48 or a 60/63
