b16 valve cover

Default b16 valve cover

Hey guy im about to strip the paint off my valve cover, using airplane paint remover.The ? do i have to torque the bolts down when i put the valve cover back on afterwards when im done? thanks.

eh? You mean to a certain ft-lbs?

Nah I just tightened them down far enough to compress the rubber grommets down a little bit, snug it up. Not too much, dont wanna snap the bolt.....

yep they come off... and dont' worry about the TQ specs.. they're tiny anyway.

Don't tq them. Just hand tighten but be very very carefull. They snap really easily.

It is 7.2 lbs/ ft but hand tight does work unless u have a torque wrench, then by all means use it. careful I snapped one at 5 lbs dunno how but u can feel the bolt give jsut a little b4 snapping so go very slow.
