boost will depend on the type of setup you run.. like what size turbo.. and yeah.. go custom.. and search through archives - there are few topics that may help you with this..

here's some information on what to look out for: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=591627

i also had headgasket failure due to hard driving + high milage.. close to 70K.. so just double check everything, make sure your car is in great condition.

as for intercooler, just run fmic, its more efficient..

i plan on running a small turbo. i really dont want to run tones of boost, just like 5-7psi. i dont want to really go change my internals.

whats your whp goal? too small of turbo can affect your top end and will require more psi to match the volume of larger turbos at lower psi.

you should talk to miraiz on this board. He knows the ins and outs of a boosted R.

Running about 10psi on stock internals.....on afc hack untuned done about 6k miles so far and no probs yet...Building internals and going standalone ecu soon

Definitely go custom..Take your time, research into it and piece everything together yourself..

Also talk to DC2R714 and itr206. Two guys with boosted R's and tons of knowledge.

deff go custom. im selling some of my stuff if interested, im upgrading my set up .
worked great for me though.
i ran 11psi for a little on stock internals. never dynoed though.
i went 295 on 8psi without probs, real conservative tune.
the fault to stock internals is the ring lands and ability for the piston to melt.
you wont have any probs running 8psi daily as long as you have a good tuner that knows what he;s doing. alot have been having luck with the fmu set up , but i will always reccomend a standalone , just for better sleeping at night.
Hope this helps some
