Default Boosting B18c5... - what goes out first?

At 70K miles (2k of mild boost), my headgasket is leaking.. So i have to replace that.. at least..

I want to run 275whp. i have all the proper fuel parts along with hondata.. I'd liek to stick with oem parts if i can.. Its 120whp more stress on the engine than stock setup..

So how much stress can stock engine handle and what parts would go/brake/leak first?

I have supercharged and turbo charged many type Rs. Scooter ( on this board) had his stock Type R block boosted for about one yaer before we built him a new motor. He was making around 280WHP at around 10psi.The block was fine when it came out, I looked it over and I was impressed with how clean everything looked.

i would say the first thing to go are the piston ring lands , around the intake valve relief. The key is not to detonate it , go easy on the timming and keep it around 12-1 A/F and you should be fine .

At 280 -300 WHP tuned right I think you will be fine. The only things I have seen break are the ring lands. I don't think I would go much 300 with out lowering the compression and beef up the rods.

Ya tune conservatively if you are going to run 10psi. This is what happens when you lean out and detonate.

Ringlands go, then rings, then piston, then sleeves (NOT neccessarily in that order)

Ya I agree with the ringlands, but if you have it properly tuned then you should be alright for a decent amount of time. Just make sure that you have everything just right and that it's not detonating cuase that will break the ringlands or just break the piston and that would be bad.

I agree....ringlands...yet have you addressed the problem of why your headgasket is leaking? Are you running stock head bolts? If so I recommend switching to ARP to prevent head lifting under high boost

No, thats what happens when you take your car for tuning at SKR in NJ.

i'm not sure why my headgasket is leaking.. motor never been opened.. i'm probablyg going to use stronger head bolts.. arp or whatever is good..

...At 280hp...it would only be a matter of moment for the rings to go...if not the ring the whole damn piston.
then headgasket
then clutch

anymore than 280, your looking to blow sleeves (if untuned)
