I have a better idea. do you still have your stock shifter? just take it to a machine shop, and have them shorten the shaft, thin and re-thread it. It also looks better, becuase your shifter will be much lower to the floor, and you won't have any problems with your linkage hanging any lower.

Actually doesn't seem to have really shortened the throw. I just did it because my shift **** sat about 4" above the boot, and it looked like ***. N ow it looks abou normal heighth.

I think if you want to shorten the throw, you have to cut off the shifter below the pivot ball( I guess is what it is called ), and lengthen it around 3/8's to 1/2 inch on bottom. that shortens the throw on top by having more leverage.

Yeah, you just gotta take enough off. I shortened mine over 2", and its just about right. Sits super low, and shifts nice and quick.
