short shifter/ shift linkage
when i did my b16 swap into my 99ex i kept the short shifter from the old motor/tranny, when im drivin the shifter rattles like crazy. sometimes gettin into first or downshifting into 2nd is tough. my friend tells me that its cause of the shifter, the shifter i got is some no name brand but i think its the shift linkage, which is it or is it neither, and if it is the shifter whats a good one to go with?

i have the same problem man, i don't think it's the short shifter or shift linkage. might want to try wrapping your short shifter with electrical tape or something. that's what i'm gonna try tommorrow. i'll let you know if it works.
edit: funny, i just took a look and it doesn't seem like the short shifter is rattling. it's the little plastic peace on the shift boot rattling against the shifter. i'll let you know

Re: (_OEM_)
Sometimes short shifters rattle like crazy due to the relocation of the pivot point of the shifter. Having a short shifter can make the bottom of the shifter (under the car) sit lower, and thus rattle against the exhaust. Check that out too.
