Default Time for new pads... what to do with rotors?

Well I have a front pad worn down to the tab so I am going to replace them. So what would you do in my situation with the rotors?

BACKGROUND: Car has 199,000 miles (original rotors), only planning on keeping it for 1-1.5 years more, but I do appreciate having good performing brakes. In order to remove the rotors I have to remove the axles which is a pain but doable. Rotors are currently in good condition, no warping or deep scoring. Trying to not spend too much money on the Accord because it is going into the CL...

i voted for "figure it out yourself" =] , but if there's nothing wrong with your rotors and you plan on getting rid of the car in a year, i dont see much point in doing anything more than changing the pads, and possibly getting the rotors resurfaced, it'll only run you about $15 a peice, but it's your call.

Just get them turned if you're getting rid of the car soon....no need in wasting the time or money.

I'm not sure about you guys, but in the past on EVERY honda i've done brakes on and its been plenty, if I turned the rotors on an Off car brake lathe once I put it back together it would come back with brake noise in about 500 or so miles. Honda service procedure for resurfacing brake rotors is to use a special lathe that cuts the rotors on the car. This way you don't have runout issues when you are done. My suggestion would be if you do not notice any pulsation when you apply the brakes at high speeds and the rotors appear to be in good shape with no grooves or hot spots, replace the pads and leave the rotors alone. i've done this a few times and have not had any problems as of yet. If you do notice pulsation or the rotors are grooved or have hot spots(redish purple lines on them) I would take it somwhere that can turn them on the car. It may save you alot of time and headaches. Just my 0.02
