HAWK Brake Pads.. HPS and HP Plus...??
I was wondering if any of you have any Positive or Negative imput on these Brake Pads. I tend to drive in a lot of stop and go traffic and Highway Driving never get's above 120kmh.. Right now I am using AXIS ..But I don't care for them that much
So if you have any recomendations for a good Street Pads ..Please share

it depends what you're into....for every day street drviing, maybe HP Plus is overkill...you have to wait a relatively long time for them to warm up, so depending on the weather conditions in your part of the country, they are not even recommended for winter. In fact, I wouldn't even recommend them for autocrossing, but rather for tracking, where brakes are used much harder and for a longer period of time.
HP Ss brake well (better than most OEM pads). However, I'm not sure how they fare up to the OEM itr pads. You might actually be better off buying new OEM ones, but I really don't know.
Don't think of it only as a minor difference in price. Think that you WILL have to warm the HP+ up before they are at their optimum performance. And that the HPs might not give better braking than OEM itr pads

i have Hawk pads on my GSR. i llike them, but be ready for alot of brake dust, and they tend to squeak a little from time to time. but performance wise they are great
Thanks guys ..
but do any of you use the HPS pads.???Looks like the HP plus pads are out of the question of street driving over here in Japan

Get Porterfield R4S for street.......I currently using Hawk HP-Plus on my car.....they 're ok but not as good as porterfield ( I used them before). I will switch back to R4S when my Hawk is done. One downside of Porterfield is the cost ... almost twice the cost of Hawk.
Who sells Porterfield by mail order in the States.??? and about how much do the R4S bads sell for front and rear Please
Anybody

Per Trey's (Carlex) recommendations... I got the HP+ for street/autox... these things are beyond what the OEM stuff could ever be. As for taking time to heat up just for the street... bleh, they're fine. I haven't noticed a BIG increase in dust over OEM. Get em, you won't regret it.

Other than that no complaints. I don't really daily drive my ITR, so that's not a problem for me though.
