JL 10W6v2 vs. Elemental Designs e10o
Not really all that skilled in the world of car audio, so I was wondering which sub you guys would recommend for SQ. I plan on running JL XR components up front. The sub will most likely be run off the rear channels of a US Acoustics 4085. Feel free to make your own suggestions for my system as well (I haven't purchased anything yet). I'm basically going for SQ on a budget. So which is it? 10w6v2 or e10o?
Seeing that your budger is limited I would get the e10O. I'm am sure that you will not be disappointed. They sound quite similar IMO, but the eD costs half as much (maybe even less than half).

Yeah, but with Ebay, it's possible to get the w6 pretty cheap (cheap enough). Still the same vote? The reason I'm building it budget is because I'm simply more interested in go-fast parts, but the stock Integra system sucks. Bad. Do you recommend I stick with that amp/components, or do you have some other recommendations? Thanks.

I would still choose the eD sub for the warranty (plus it will still be cheaper). The JL Xr components are awesome, hang on to those.
That is a decent amp, but it will only send the sub 240 watts. While that should be enough to get it to sound decent, I don't think that you'll get its full potential. What size box do you plan on using?

Really? Only 240? I hadn't put much thought into the box. I was just planning on using the blueprints on ed's website to build one, or have one built.

Well, that 240 is only at 12V. It should be closer to 300 with the car running, either way it should be enough. Try and build the box on the bigger side of the scale (1.2 cubic feet as opposed to .5).
Edit:
If you didn't know, make sure that you get the dual 4 ohm version of the sub.

Yeah, I'd heard closer to 300, so that's why I was confused. I'll remember about the size when building the box. Thankfully, I've already read enough to know I need the dual 4 ohm version, but I appreciate the advice anyway. Thanks for all your help. Looks like my plans are set.
