just wondering what ur thoughts are between the Solobaric L7 and the JL W6 ...im bout to buy one or the other...so i was just seein what everyone's opinion was between THESE two ONLY...thanks...runnin a 1000/watt rms mono amp...

DO NOT expect the W6 to outperform the L7 is SPL. In SQ yes.

what amp are u running?
the W6's arent made for that much power ur in W7 territory there.
an L7 will run fine off of 1000w rms.

 

yup, what those guys said, I have L7's, lots of SPL and my cousin has w3's and those have a bit better SQ

I've seen them blow with less power than that. They are good speakers but cant handle power that well from what ive seen.

 

yea i blew my 15" L7 wit 500w rms...jl 500.1

 

Speaking from personal experience with Kicker and JL, I will tell you that Kicker is FAR superior in both SPL and SQ. Others will argue til they are blue in teh face, but the results of competitions tell the true story.


As for the guy that blew an L7 with 500 RMS.....something HAD to be hooked up wrong because I beat teh living crap out of a 10 inch L5 with 450 RMS on a daily basis and I have no problems.

L5/L7 in the properly tuned enclosure can sound really good, but being far superior in sq to a W6 or W7? I guess sq is subjective...

I agree,had to be hooked up wrong,or just a bad speaker.I've seen L7s take tons of power and just keep coming back,might have actually been underpowering.

But to get an accurate comparsion you have to go W7 vs. L7,the w6 just cant compete with the L7 in terms of output.But SQ it'd be close,the w6 sounds awesome.

 

JL wins in my vote.

 

are we talking about the w6v2 here? If we are then it's no major different between the w6v2 and the w7. For the price the w7 cost i rather get a w6v2.

 

Had kicker didnt like them got JL Audio W7 12" I will stick with that for now.

 

i personally have 2 l7's with a jbl 1200.1 on each..talk about a early wake up call...now i am switching to a kicker 1200.1 cause i am looking to get sponsored when i go back to the states...KICKER ALL THE WAY BABY!!!
