Dumb question, I know... but I don't have much experience with relays.
Could someone explain to me how to do this?

Thanks, maybe I didn't explain clearly.

I already have one siren from the + and - outputs on the alarm. I want to add at least one more under the hood, and possibly a piezo siren somewhere behind my dash.

Alpine told me that in order to avoid causing damage to the Alarm brain or the sirens I need to use a relay.

I'm not sure exactly how to wire this.

Just Run 2 alarms, not 1 shitty one with more sirens.

I would run 1 alarm under the dash and one under the rug in the back, or under the seats, can't go wrong with a backup battery

The brown wire off your alarm is + output siren. The ground is just connected to your modules ground wire. so you have + siren output.

Take a SPDT relay and:

85 to the brown wire ( positve coil trigger)
86 to ground (negative coil trigger)
87 connect to a fused +12 Volts source. ( this is going to supply the sirens with +12V)
30 will go to the + sides of your sirens.

when the relay is active 87 sends +12 V to all of your sirens, through pin 30. Make sure the wire you connect to ( for + 12 vOlts ) can handle the extra current demand.

Ground your sirens whereever..... If you want to do it right: ground them at the same spot as your module ( and pin 86 of the relay). When people ground sirens in the engine bay, over time the ground connection becomes corroded and stops working. So this way youre running two wires to each siren ( a + and a -) so there's no chance of corrosion.

Then you just ground the - off of the sirens to the chassis.

Note: You may have noticed the way I describe it and Rjr draws it a bit different (87 and 30) For this type of set up, there is no difference between 30 and 87. One goes to the 12volts supply , and the other goes to the + sides of the sirens.

Any suggestions on where to mount a second siren? Would it e most effective under the hood, hidden maybe behind the front bumper cover, or up under the dashboard, inside the car somewhere?
