Pick me some amps!
First, let me say that I'm looking for the upper picks of the amps; I've heard that JL, Memphis, and Eclipse make some of the best amps.
I want to power some Infinity KAPPA693.5I speakers, which are 110W RMS@4 ohms. I'll need 125 or 150Wx2.
I'm probably going to be getting some Diamond S600s speakers from ATF Kuk. Those are 170W RMS, so I'll need 200Wx2@4 ohms.
I'm looking at the Diamond TDX 10D4 sub, 800W RMS. What amp will I need for that? Alternately, I might look at a 1000W version. What amp for that?
ATF: How much will the S600s'es set me back, and what's the cost difference between the 10D4 and 12D4? I'm not saying that I'll be able to afford them off hand, but I want figures to work with.
Thanks!

The tdx would love an arc 1500dr
I own a TDX 12d4. If you are considering the 12, then don't worry about the cost difference. It is not much. Once you start dealing with the super subs($400+) there is not much of a cost difference between sizes.

any speaker would love any arc audio amp.
get the diamonds, power it with an arc amp
then get the tdx, and power that with either arc or jl (jl for cost efficient).

What's the difference between the 12d2 and 12d4? I know that it's like 2x2 and 4x2 ohms, but is there a majority of amps that likes 8 ohms or what?
Hmm..get me straight on this. What does Diamond mean by "Dual 2" or "Dual 4" ohm subs? Does that really mean 2x2 and 2x4 (like 4 and 8 ohms)?
Also..I noticed that all of the amps drive more wattage at lower ohms. Is there a disadvantage to making/using a 2 ohm speaker vs. 4 ohms?

Most car subs are dual 2 or dual 4 ohm voicecoils. Assuming the amp can handle it, it will always produce more power at lower impedance. Decide what amp you want, then get the sub vc configuration to compliment it.
What I'm asking, what is the "dual" part? Are there two sets of windings?
You said to get the d2 if I'm planning 1 or 4 ohms, so I infer that you can connect this speaker in series or parallel with "itself."

sorry took so long to reply. dual voice coil helps u with the way u wire the sub. how u wire the sub will determine the impedance. for example, parallel will give u half and series will give u double. for example, dual 2 ohm in parallel will give u 1 ohm because cut it in half, and wired in a series will give u 4 ohms. now a dual 4 ohm sub wired in parallel will give u 2 ohms and wired in a series wil give u 8 ohms. to give u a better understanding heres a graph http://paudio.tripod.com/subwooferwiring.html
