How to get around OBD-II
I saw that mod on NTPOG about how to get around the detuning that occurs with OBD-II cars.
if you haven't seen it, go to here:
http://www.ntpog.org/mods/fifth-afc/ecu.shtml
has anyone done this, and if so, did it really work?? I would imagine, that BUT FOR, obdII, mods like exhaust, cam gears, headers, etc would actually make more power on cars like ours... but as long as OBD-II is there, it is goign to back off fuel or retard timing and make our car's performance go right back to stock.
any feedback?? or has anyone simply gone all out and done an OBD-I conversion and seen more performance??
thanks.

..a few people that currently run obd 1 ecus in their 5th gen preludes! You can either use a obd 1 p72 ecu [yes it's from an Integra, but it can be reprgrammed to h22 specs, trust me! ] and just rewire the cpk and tdc sensors, since the obd 1 h22 had the sensor in the dist, and the obd 2 have them on the crank! Or you can use an obd1 p13, and do the same as above, only youll have to use obd 1 h22 injectors and resitor pack since the obd1 h22 injectors are peak and hold, unlike the obd2 h22's which are saturated, that being said they have different impedance levels, as weall as the fact that the flow rates are different, added bonus.
But, it can be done...

I haven't heard from you in a while. What are your plans as far as mods? Some 5th gens are making some good power with basic mods, as for the ecu trying to retain stock power levels.........I am not sure about that.

You don't need the distributor for OBD I swap. The TDC and CKP sensors may be on the crank, but they work exactly the same. Many people have done it.
