Motors smoking Pt. 2 : Did a compression test
WEll a fdew weeks ago i posted that my motor in my car is smoking pretty badly and burning a considerable amount of oil, so i went out and bought a compression tester and tested it. The numbers were high on all 4 cylinders. Now since the compression numbers are where they are suppose to be im assuming i can rule out teh fact that the piston rings are gone, so now im thinking i must have either bad valve seals or bent valves, does this sound logical?

my engine did the exact same thing. my problem was that the oil control rings gummed up completly. compression rings were perfect, i had great compression but smoked like crazy especially in vtec. i put new rings from honda in it. fixed.
you need to do a compressiont test with 2 tablespoons of oil put into your cylinders then you check the compression...if the numbers increase significantly then your ringa are bad(oil rings that is).
good luck gloria

ok so your not getting much oil flow anymore .... that no smoke stuff is the worst thing you can put in a honda engine we use 5w30 oil and that stuff is thicker then honey .... beware your engine will be eating bearrings soon
