Default Tired of my weak VTEC with shitty ecu... Any suggestions what to get?

I have a 96 civic with lsvtec (99si head/b18b block w/itr cams) and i bought a obd2-1 harness shortly after and took a p28 to be chipped by a local shop with 5400vtec and 9200 cutoff. My friend recently bought an obd 1 p72 and i put it in my car just to see what happened. My vtec with the chipped ecu was never really that loud and i couldnt feel a pull, but with the p72 the vtec was nearly deafening and it pulled much harder. I was wondering if anyone knows why the p72 enhanced my vtec so much? And is there anyone with a similiar setup that has a good program that they would recommend? Thanks

When vtec is set properly you should barley hear it. just because its louder dosent mean its working the best.

Yea, ok but still the vtec doesnt pull at all. There is no noticeable difference in power like there should be. Anyone have suggestions about what ecu to get to replace it if i do?
