i am soo ordering a jdm d15b, and was wondering would using a vtec controller
on the p08 b a bad idea? i want vtec to hit sooner than 5,600. i was origianally
going to use my p28 from the z6 but u guys said that may cause problems
with a sensor the d15b doesn't have and the z6 does.
what do u guys think i should do?

P08 is a Vtec ECU, as a matter of fact its the correct ECU for the OBD1 D15B Vtec. I assume you meant P06? Non Vtec OBD1 D15B7 ECU? Vtec controllers suck, they're a hack at best, the only way to have vtec function properly is using a Honda Vtec ECU. The sensor you are refering to is most likely the Vtec pressure switch, The OBD1 version of the D15B Vtec (the one you want) comes with a vtec pressure switch. Your best bet is to just run your P28, it will run fine, i've been running mine that way for 2 years now. Ideally get it tuned.

i do in fact mean p08, i know it's a vtec ecu, but i was worried about
5,600 vtec engmt vs. 4,800 that's all.
so the p28 will be fine and i shouldn't have drivability issues?
o and yes i'm planning on getting the jdm d15b vtec from the old vti
from hmotors.

Like eg8 mentioned, the best way to alter when vtec hits is to get tuned. But hitting vtec too soon might leave you haning in the higher rpm's.

hmm good point, thank's!
i'm just gonna get the motor, get it in and make sure everything works
before i go messin with it. then once it's in a can hit u guys up for help
and possibly one of u can hook me up with a tune. i can get a chipped ecu
shipped from jk-tuning for under $200 so let me know what u tuners can do for me
come spring time. i'm in pa, the erie/pittsburgh area. but will travel for a good tune
