Bad motor?.....maybe the motor has been beatin previously? did you do a compression check when you bought the motor? was it like over 185 all across all 4 cylinders?....hooking up to the ground? bad driving?

i have a question along with compression why doesnt anyone ever try a cylinder leakage test. shows symptoms of bent vavles or bad valve seats, worn rings, bad head gasket, it could show so many things, and its not hard at all to do this test once u have the clt unit.

You're motor is fine if your water temp is normal. As long as you're temp gauge is normal you have nothing to worry about. My b16 does the same thing; it runs really hot, but the temp gauge is normal. But I dont imagine that effecting your performance.

My b16 is hesitating too, but only under patrial throttle. I am sure it's clogged fuel injectors, but when i floor it it does not hesitate. Why don't you throw in a bottle of fuel system cleaner and see what happens. Good Luck

The #1 symptom of a hot running motor is a surging idle.....not sure if yours does, but try throwing in a 180 t-stat/waterwetter and see what happens.

also my b16a was hesitant at first but runs like a champ. AT first i only had a header intake and exhaust and stock b16a, it would throw o2 codes like whoa and hestiate, after a tune up this improved, but i felt a better response from changing the fpr to a b&m unit and adding 4 lbs of fuel, this was nice.. and improved its performance big time. (along with this aem fuel rail, skunk2 manifold and VFAC {holy ****! vfac rocks})

Sounds normal. Stock B16s in ef hatches are weak. mid 15s on street tires all day. what are your 60' times.

i can see that your car runs 11's, but come on now. b16's in ef's run high 14's, not mid 15's. how can a 2000 Si with the same motor and about 400lbs extra run 15.7 and the ef runs only 2 tenths faster? don't talk **** because your car is quick. speak the truth.

are you using the stock fuel pump ......?

if you are , it could very well be the factory pump used for the sohc motor , cannot supply enough fuel for the higher fuel needs of the B16 ....you might want to upgrade , along with an FPR+ gauge ...

I'm not comparing it to my car, I'm just saying that it's not very strong in stock form. I've seen multiple b16 ef swaps around here and I've never seen one break into the 14s without slicks, given some of you guys may be closer to sea level than me, so that might be the diffrence, but I'm just going off what I've seen.
