Default Power FC users who still have AC - feedback wanted

Well.... i've recently removed the VAFC in my car due to TPS voltage issues (anyone else ever have a fluctuating TPS reading btw?)... PFC is doing quite well. User friendly, bla bla bla.. if this turns into another fuel management argument.. so be it.

Anyway... PFC users who have retained factory AC. I have the PFC on my 98 R, stock (although slightly hacked) wiring harnes, B18 base map. The problem is when my fan switch is on 4, (with the AC ON) the PFC turns off the AC switch (ACS and ACC) in the sensor check under etc. When the fan switch is on 3, both the ACS and ACC indicators flash on and off infrequently. PFC works fine with AC on fan switch 1 and 2. This occurs at nearly every RPM range, and seems non related to throttle input. The PFC seems to not like such a high electrical load.. my guess... no ******* idea really.

Has anyone else had this occur?

does it only work when AC is on.. not sure if there is anything else with a load like AC, but maybe radio and cruise control and other mess, see if it still screws up.. i have no clue. i guess PFC wants its own electricity, damn basterd FC.

If I remember correctly, you have to wire the AC like you do with the Mugen ECU. It has been a long time since I used the FC...

i had the same exact problem and could find nobody to help me with it.looked in the manual and found the ac in and out wires and cut them and put them together and it works.the reason i knew this would work is that when i had a haltech ecu i did the same thing.if you find out why it does it and the correct fix ,let me know.i would like to put it back.

hrmm.. thanks for the feedback everyone.

curious what year vehicles you had or didn't have problems with... ie, which wiring harness are you using.

I'm using Kenji's harness, no problems so far (B16A map though)

This happened to me iwth a VAFC. I bought a PFC and all was grand. I woudl guess whatever the problem is, is in your car because I never had that issue. Does it do it on 1 or 2 with the lights on?

I ran a small Amp in my R with the PFC and the AC was fine on #3.

Don't quote me on this...but if I remember correctly the PFC is a little picky on how good of a ground it has, not sure if it's even related, just throwing it into the discussion.
