Default AC help please

the ac on my car just suddenly stopped working. The clutch on the compressor does not even engage at all.. and i remember when i have the ignition on, with the engine off, when i turn on the ac, at least the ac fan would come on... but it doesnt do that either. I have checked all the fuses and they are all good. I tried swapping the fan relays' with one that is good and it does the same thing. Anybody hav n e ideas. tanks

i've checked everything.. n it seems like the AC switch is not doing n e thing. Could the AC switch on the climate control go bad? never reallie heard of that b4.. but has n e body had that problem. Maybe i just have to replace the climate control??

To be honest, I do almost everything my self, yet when it comes to AC related I take it to Honda. Its much easier and they charge $39 to diagnose, then if they fix it, the fee is waived.

Sounds like the pressure switch though, it went out on mine and did the same things, and also the thermostat in the evaporator.

i'm a little reluctant to take mine to Honda... I have a friend that works there and from all the stories I hear... makes me want to say hell no.

it could be that the system is out of gas and maybe you have a small leak. mine is empty and when i press the button nothing happens. i filled it and it lasted a month and then it stopped. if you press that pressure button above your radiator, you will see if you have gas or not. but be careful **** will spray everywhere if its full.

it has something to do with the switch. I jumped the AC compressor with 12 volts while the car is running and the AC was coming out cold.

Okay, sounds like the pressure switch is out, its $69.99from Honda. If not it is the other switch in the evaporator box.

somebody told me that if the pressure switch is out, it will still cycle on and off. Do you think it can be the climate control? Is there a reason why you're fairly sure its not the climate control? thanks

Yes, the pressure switch wil make it cycle on and off, but if you are low on pressure that is where it is most liekly coming from, ie. Honda usually Stocks the part.

Also, when mine went out for good, it was the swicth in the evaportaor box or under the dash. Take a look at the wiring diagram in the back of the haynes manual.

I've been taking my Teg. to Acura for over 11 yrs. and just recently I'm beginning to understand what you're saying. My condensor went last Spring and it cost me over $860 to replace it. This spring when I tried to turn on my A/C, it wasn't blowing any cold air at all. I called Acura and they told me, I would have to get a diagnostic done and it would cost me $95 for that. I thought that was BS, considering I dropped close to $900 on the A/C last Spring. So, now I don't take my car there anymore. My A/C is working now, but I won't say how I got that working. I'm sure you can venture to guess.
