Default compustar- opening doors and remote start

Can i, or the installer, somehow program the remote starter so that I can open and close the door and still remote start it? I keep everything in my car and I often go back to get stuff so it's kinda annoying that I can't remote start it once i open the door again even though its set on reservation mode.

thanks.

opening the doors when ready mode is set is the key safety feature. If you bypass that, why didnt you just get an automatic starter installed ?....

What if you or who ever bump the shifter into first while while you're in the car, you're missing the security acspect of the reservation mode...

All you have to do is remote start it, get in, get what you need, then leave and shut it down again....

i tried remote starting and shutting it down but it's kind of a hassle because i have to actually get in the car, step on the brakes and clutch, and put it into gear and take it out to put it back in reservation mode.

I understand that its a safety feature but it shuts off even when I only have to get something from the trunk. Thanks for the idea though, any other suggestions please?

thanks,
min

Are you saying once it's in ready mode, you cant (remote) start it, then unlock it, get what you need, close the door, then shut it off by remote ? it should stay in ready after its shut down because it was running ( in neutral ) when it was shut off....

It should be possible, play around and let me know...

i hate it too. i set reservation mode, go out to my car later at night to get something, then in the morning it wont start because opening the door canceled reservation. Oh well.

ok, tried it several more times. i was wrong about having to put it in and out of gear but I still have to put the key in, hit the brakes (to shut it off reserve mode), then take the key out (to put it back in reserve mode). That's the easiest way so far, you can't just remote start, open the door, get something and remote shut it off to put it in reserve mode. Once strange things is when I try to remote start it after that I get 5 parking light flashes, which according to the user manual means Brake On, as opposed to the 3 flashes for door open.

any other ideas or should i just give up? anything the installer can do?

thanks for all the help.
