Well tonight I was sitting around with some buddies at a local hangout. We were all talking about turbo cars and such. My friends B16 just **** the bed and he bought a LS motor and is going to turbo it. This got me thinking........

With my current setup I have (check my sig) I could part out with the motor, tranny, header, and anything else I wouldn't need. I am pretty sure this total would be pretty high.

Then, I could buy an LS motor.....turbo it and buy anything else needed to make sure its a perfect setup (the whole 9 yards).


Could anyone throw some calculations at me for what I could get from my GSR that I don't need for turbo and could part out. Then, give me a rough estimate of what it would cost for the LS motor, Turbo kit, and anything else that needs to be upgraded, a hondata and of course lots of tuning

Let me know if you think this is a good idea or not. This was just something that popped into my head.

 

My friend just offered me an LS swap (41k on the motor), shift linkage/axles/motor mounts/harness, 5 speed tranny all for my GSR motor alone. Is this a good deal?

I have DPR stage 6 headwork, he said he'd take the stock gsr cams and I also have 59k on my motor.

Im trying to get some knowledge about this because its all dropping on me at once and I am in like a daze. Can someone help me out here.

 

easy...keep the gsr, save money and turbo that!

i wouldn't do it. i have had a pretty good running stock motor ls turbo car and now i want a gsr motor. LS is great for a stock motor turbo car but when u really want to play with the big boys the gsr motor is the way to go. do it right the first time or u will regret it in the long run when u want more. just sell the all motor parts u don't need and save up. it will be worth it.
