Default AMSOIL Users...XL-7500 or Regular?

XL-7500 is $5.20 a quart while the regular is $5.85. What's the difference other than the recommended change intervals? I want to try AMSOIL just to see if my car will still burn it. I burn about 1qt. every 3,000miles with Mobil1.

XL-7500 is based on Group3 base stocks, whereas the reg Amsoil is true synthetic Group4. Go with the regular.

Definitely regular. Do a search for h/t.com user: lufern (Luis). He sells Amsoil. Tell him Gary aka Gee3 sent you.

I have 5w30 Amsoil in the car now. It is supposed to last ~25k miles or 12mos w/ just a filter change at 12k miles or 6mos. The XL7500 is more for the Kwik Lube places and is to be changed every 6mos or 6k-7500miles?. I read they guaranteed the oil 100% and have never had a claim since their inception in 1972. Pretty sweet and I personally saved about $50+/yr from using Mobil 1.

you "saved" $50 by running oil so long it becomes sludge? regardless of how good the oil might be, you still get the same amount of contaminants over the same amount of time no matter the oil brand.

Gary, the Amsoil drain interval claim is absurd. Oil analysis' prove it. I don't frequent it much lately, but http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi is .

see, a guy as lazy as double-a ron would be all about 25k oil changes if such a thing were possible.

Hit me up, I have a shipment that's spoken for coming in this week, but I can throw out another. I'll hook you up, so you can see if you like it or not.

THis is why I use the Regular stuff. Get a Preferred Customer account with some freinds and order a few cases and your price will come down. We pay $5.25/qt

I'd say go with the regular I have a 92' 240sx with over 150k miles on it and I've had 10w30 in there for almost 5 months. If your'e gonna use Amsoil I'd say use Amsoil filters also. Email me or im me and I'll hook you up with a better price. If you have questions about the change interval email me, thanks.
