tranny gearing for auto motors...
hey fellas...ok i have an auto tranny from a JDM B18C motor...yes i know there isnt an auto tranny GSR here in the states but there is one in Japan(just for the folks out there who like to give me a hard time)...
...i have been told that the USDM LS auto tranny is the same as the JDM B18C auto tranny...however i find that hard to believe because (as alot of us in hear know) it has vtec which needs shorter gears the Ls cannot provide...correct??...now if it where the same could it be because the gearing ratios r different??...well if anyone has any info it would be greatly appreatiated...thanks

i dont have a definate answer but..
i do know that auto jdm b16 civics are dog slow and they fall out of their powerband reaaal bad.
so it wouldnt suprise me if the sir-g autos were geared real crappy with an ls trans also.

so does this mean that they are the same gearing between the USDM LS and the JDM GSR auot trannies?...eg6ajk: where did u find that info?...
the reason i wanna clarify this is because a guy wants to buy this tranny from me and he also had someone told him its a LS tranny...but we were having a hard time figuring out y...is there a way u can tell they are different?...or a way to prove that they are different?...thanks
