JDM B18C with auto tranny
Does anyone have or have seen a civic with this swap? Does anyone know the spec's of this engine mated with an automatic tranny. I know sometimes auto engines have more cam overlap and ususally make less peak hp. With the powerband moved into the lower rpm range. I have a 95 dx hatch auto and this is one possible swap I'm considering. Before anyone asks why an auto. I have a leg injury due to a motorcycle crash which prohibits me from driving a manual anymore.

yes you can use a auto. either the b16 auto from the jdm b16 engine or a non vtec b18 auto will work. as for ecu i would try to find the b16 auto one and get a skunk2 intake manifold so that you only have one butterfly rather than two. and that should run fine.

Re: JDM B18C with auto tranny (mrossman)
I contacted a shop about doing a H22a auto swap. He recommended the JDM GSR B18C auto swap combo. I have never heard of a GSR engine mated with a auto before. But we don't get half the goodys that people overseas are offered.

Re: JDM B18C with auto tranny (Spins)
I have an LS auto with the Auto ecu. I just completed a tranny coversion and I'll get rid of it for 200. It will bolt up to a B18C and you use your axles, it only has 86k on it and it was my girlfriends car...let me tell you that she drives like a grandma. The car was reaended so I made it my track car. So, If your interested let me know. its not in classifieds because i didn't think anyone would want it. JUST FYI.

Not looking to piece it together. If I do a swap I would buy everything all together from one supplier and actually get an auto motor/tranny setup.

Re: JDM B18C with auto tranny (nathan atwell)
Thanks for the site. That's the first one I've seen. A company here in S FLorida has the B18C auto swap in stock. I just don't know if it will be worth it. $4000 is the price he quoted me. I was also wondering if I could run low grade fuel in it. I've read a few post where some do and others don't. I currently have a 95 s14 240 sx with a 95 Sr20det blktop with auto tranny. I have to use premium. The 240 is kinda thirsty. But she runs low 14's with just a few mods. Anyone know what kinda fuel economy b18c gets?
