ok my friend and i were driving his 91 Si today, we just replaced the plugs, wires, dizzy car and rotor, and did a oil change w/ filter. It drove fine till we got on the freeway where it started boging (the reason we did all that was to stop bogging) so we got off the freeway and went to the junkyard to get stuff as planed. After we left the car ran fine for 10min then it started bogging worse and worse till it died. So we sat for a min or 2 and then tried a restart, it turned over but didnt start, so he took out the key and we saw smoke from the in car vents and from the hood, so we popped the hood and traced the smoke to the cat which was GLOWING RED!!! we were like WTF!!! our guess was that the 12yr old cat+a rich running Teg ecu=a very clogged cat. so lets hope thats the problem, the car was towed to a local import shop so i'll keep this updated on the problem
i did that before on a road trip, not even halfway there on the PA turnpike.
might wanna pick up a new cap and rotor now, i gutted my cat and the thing still wouldnt start, so then i got a new cap and rotor and bingo, back on the road again
