Alright, well im replacing the fuel filter on my DOHC ZC, i read all of the posts i could find using the search.. and i went and bought a fuel filter for a d16a6.. weird thing is.. the filter i got has one "port" on the bottom and one on top. The one thats in my car currently has 2 ports on the top and none on the bottom? Do i need to get another filter, or will this one work? Also, i read that one is the "in" and one is the "out" .. how can i determine which one is the in and out on the old filter, and the in and out on the new filter? Also, do i need to do anything special when taking off the old filter? To release gas pressure i can just unscrew the gas cap correct? Any other info would be great! Thanks!
you should just use the filter from your car not yor engine. so if you have a crx si get a fuelfiter for a crx si. the filter should look exactly like your old one on your car. if not take it back and get one that does. the fuel line that goes to your engine is obviously out. my manual also says to disconnect the neg terminal.

well will it make a big difference? I mean all the parts i have gotten have been for a d16a6, so why would i use a Honda CRX HF 91' Filter?

Anything else i need to know when replacing the filter? How many bolts are there? How hard are they to take off?

I just changed my filter last week so i remember that you take the fuel cap off, remove neg. terminal. and use 2 wrenches. one to hold the filter and one to take the bolts out. place a rag under the filter because the fuel in the lies will drain out. Its real easy it wont take long. its easier if you take you air intake off your throttle body as well.

Why do you remove the neg terminal to the batt? Also, where on the filter do you use the wrench to hold it? Is it possible to just like clamp off the hoses so that no fuel will leak out when you are removing them? Thanks

So it can't spark and explode if you screw up.

****! Not cool at all, i finished the install, and the right port (DOHC ZC), which im pretty sure is the In port, was spraying gas everywhere.. jesus LORD.. Is this because the bolt is not tight enough, or what? If you install the hose part upside down, would that cause it? Im pretty sure i put it on the correct way, but it seemed tight enough and everything.. agg HELP!

did you torque the bolt to spec? after reading some posts on here, i know some people like to tighten bolts hand tight or to a certain point where they feel is good enough...

I dint get new copper orings with my new fuel filter, but the ones that were there looked fine, i inspected them.. but the problem was, it just wasnt tightened correctly.. i just took the one off (it was the out) and put it back on, tightened it correctly, and BAM, everything works great.. my car feels like it has its ***** back!
