aftermarket fuel filter
I'm going to be doing a fuel line tuck using a russell 40 micron filter and I'm just trying to make sure it's a good enough filter to support 400whp. Anyone else boosted running this and only this filter? Here is a pic for reference...

Re: aftermarket fuel filter
What about it's size. Is it a large enough capacity? Fuelab makes one that's 10 micron and 5" long for $95. http://fuelab.com/virtuemart/fuel-fi...fuelab-filters

Re: aftermarket fuel filter
Jeg's what? brand filter or where to order from? All my fittings howed up today from them. Only thing I still need to get it a filter. I ordered the 5" long 10 micron filter by Fuelab from MA Performance but it's on back order. I'd love to go with the Russell or Earls filter since it's not $94 like the other one. That would give me the extra money for a fuel rail. I also don't want to cheap out on a filter and ruin a newly built motor either. I'll just stick with the one I have on order.

Re: aftermarket fuel filter
I'm running a 40micron russells from fast-turbo.com..stock filters have definitely seen 400+whp I'm sure u won't have a problem lol
The limiting factor isn't the filter itself but rather the oem banjo fittings..larger Micron filters ex..100microns go pre pump something like a 40microns go pre rail

$70, 10 micron
That is what I run and the quality is excellent. I actually purchased the 100 micron stainless for alcohol originally and if you see a 100 micron filter you would say how the hell can any particle damage or block something that is that small. Seriously I think a particle of dust would block a few holes by itself lol.

Re: aftermarket fuel filter
yeah I understand that. So why would you put another 40 micron filter in the system when that's what the pump sock is and the firewall filter is 10 micron. I'm going with a 10 micron no matter what. As far as filter choice I want the biggest possible. The fuelab is 5" long and 2' in diameter. I'll just stick with it. Not a big deal.
