Default Turbo boost control question

I bought a IHI RHb5 turbo off of a Mazda 626 yesterday and i read somewhere that the stock integral wastgate is actuated at 8psi. Is their anyway i can lower the boost on this turbo? i was hoping for more like 5-6psi. thanks for your help

I could be wrong, but I think you can either use a boost controller or just change out the wastegate actuator (the dashpot diaphram thing).

A boost controller won't lower it. What I did on my old set up was lengthen the actuator rod. It reduced the boost, but added major lag since the wastegate was open all of the time.
