Default New Deck Question/Suggestions

Alright, it is time to get a new head unit and I am looking for suggestions.........first a little background

1. The deck that I have in now is a Pioneer DEH-P7000R. This deck is/was fine, but there is something wrong with the RCA connections inside the deck so I need to get a new one.
2. I am not into sound competitions or shows, so I don't need something with all kinds of crazy stuff that I am not going to use. I just want a simple to use, simple looking deck (the simpler to use the better - I have crossovers in my amps so I don't need to be able to do as much fine tuning as I can do now - right now I can change the frequency curves and all kinds of other unecessary stuff to me).
3. I am running two amps (Rockford Fosgate 400a4 for the front and rear speakers and a Rockford Fosgate 250a2 for the box - one 12" dual voice coil in a bandpass).
4. My only real criteria is that the deck has to have 3 pre-outs of at least 4Volts each..........I would like a wireless remote as I have become attached to mine now, but it is not entirely necessary.
5. I want to spend less than $300............

Any suggestions? Models recommended? Places to look at getting a deck?

Thanks in advance.

well, the more simple decks don't tend to have the 3 RCA inputs, but i'd try kenwood first, then maybe another pioneer, they'll both have sub control, those would be my first choices then i'd go to alpine

Man, where you leave the JVC and the Panasonic?
They have the features he needs and very easy to operate. Less expensive too!

Doesn't JVC share parts with AIWA? They're both POS. Panasonic is more sophistocated in architecture but its also far behind Pioneer and Alpine.

Who said that?
Doesn't Alpine and Eclipse share components and it makes one worse than the other?

If you realize, there are a lot of common components among many head units now a days. The difference is in the design of the final product. Motorola, NEC, Phillips, and many others well known manufacturers make alot of parts for cheap and expensive head units.

The truth be known they all share some of the very same components. For the longest cd lasers and mechanisms were purchased from Matsushita and used in several brands of head units. Some use the very same output transistors.

For you it would have to be a matter of preference. I have worked with them all and have to say that the return rate is not in favor of JVC or Panasonic. Alpine and Fujitsu Ten(Eclipse) dont make the product as good as they used to. They have all lowered their quality so much to try to price compete.

Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, Clarion are all still great units. It is all in what you need and like.
