Default Sony Xplod

I listen to the demo at the shop, sounds pretty good, but a bit pricey.

What do you think?

Is it a good idea to match all 4 speakers of the same brand? I was planing to two front at first. But since I think the Xplods are that good, would my stock 6X9s in the back "hurt" the overall sound?

Thanks

Xplod's are really overrated. I would suggest going with a different brand.
Before I can help you though, I need to know what kind of purpose your speakers are going to serve, and what kind of budget you are working with.

Are you planning to add a sub, or are you looking for decent bass-producing speakers?

Are you planning to use an amp?

Etc.

I have not made up my mind completely yet.

Several option. Yes, I decided to keep my stock Honda deck.

1. Speakers only

2. Small amp and speakers

No subs. And no CD changer (I may regret this, but got to stick with my decision.) So in other words, "minor upgrade" in sound. I'm not looking for attention getting systems.

Everytime I go the the shop, I aways willing to spend more when I see all the goodies. But got to be displine on this.

Would like to spend more than $150, but less than $300 total include installation. If I go with speakers only, I can install it all myself.

GoLow - If you plan on keeping the stock Honda deck (which I assume has no pre-outs for amps), there's an easy way to wire one up. Get both sides of an aftermarket install harness (one each to fit Honda deck and Honda chassis wiring - if that makes sense), and wire in a line-level to RCA adapter. The adapter is only about $15, and makes it easier to get signal to the amp. All the other wiring you can run yourself - ground and power, remote turn-on you can branch off your "custom" harness. Fairly painless, and easier to take back to stock later on.
