SRS Light on LS/Turbo Hatch??????
I have a 95 civic hatch with a LS motor and Drag 3 turbo. I was taking a road trip from Arizona to South Carolina. I was using a Weapon R FPR in conjuction with my FMU and in the middle of Alabama, the Weapon R FPR took a sh*t and was pushing fuel through my vacuum lines.(I was boosting @ about 5psi on a hill on I-20 and my engine shut down) I replaced the Weapon R FPR with the stock one, changed my oil, antifreeze, spark-plugs, pcv valve, and the SRS light came on. I took a jumper wire to the self-diagnostic plug and the SRS light blinked 9 times slow and then 2 times fast. But I thought that if I have any trouble codes, my check engine light would come on. Keep in mind that it is a hatchback with a LS motor and ECU. With the teg heart being in a civic hatch, would it throw codes through the SRS light or is there some other reason for this? Any info would be great. Thanks.
I also have the SRS light lit up on my Civic whenever i'm driving.. I took it once to Honda (while the turbo was in, they didn't like the looks of it that much) and they cleared the SRS light for me for about US$20, but a couple months ago, some wires in my engine bay got fried because they came loose and were melted to my turbo.. so after fixing that, the SRS light has been up since.. isn't there an easier way to reset the SRS without taking it to Honda? I don't trust the mechanics there.. they'd probably go take my car for a spin since I don't think they get many (if any at all) turbocharged Honda's.. also I don't feel comfortable knowing the my airbag isn't gonna work when I need it to..
yeah the last and only time i took my car to the dealership, i came to pick it up and heard the mechanics coming back from a "test drive" bouncing off the rev limit downshifting into the turn
you should have seen the looks on the guys face when i chewed him out about it, I got a free oil change out of it though, that really pissed me off, of all the nerve

you should be able to reset the light by pulling the 7.5amp fuse (for most civics and Integras). This is part of the troubleshooting anyway. If the code or light returns, I would then take action on resolving the issue.
What's wierd is I didn't notice the light until after my car broke down. Do you guys think that it had anything to do with my Fuel Pressure Regulator sending fuel through all my vaccum lines?....See, when I look up code 92 in the helms manual, there isn't a code 92 for OBD1 tegs...but there is for obd2 tegs(which mine isn't) and it says it's the EVAP system which makes since because there was fuel going through my vaccum lines which are hooked up to the EVAP system......I don't know!!!!! It's driving me crazy because my car is also running kind-of loopy when it idles........Please help...
yes, but your SRS light is NOT a check ENGINE light. It indicates a problem with your air bags. Look in your Civic helms manual for help on that.

Do you know of any one who has had a check engine light with a ls in a hatch? I know it should read on the the check engine light and not the SRS light, but I just want to make sure my car isn't on and throwing it through the SRS light.....I'll go and check my Helm's and see what i can find out----Thanks
I have a 95 civic coupe with a turbocharged 95 GSR (B18C1) motor. My SRS light has been on for about 3 years. I'm just waiting for the bulb to burn out.

Man, I know I've posted this before but I can't find it. Here it goes:
Find SRS reset harness underneath driver's side dash next to the fuse box. It looks similar to the harness you jump to set the timing and read CEL's except it is in a yellow harness (as is everything related to airbags).
Jump the harness with a wire/paperclip and turn the ignition on - Light should come on and go out
unjump the harness within 4 seconds and light will come back on
jump the harness again and light will flash three times letting you know it's reset
turn ignition off and remove jumper and you should be set.
It's been a while since I did it so I may have the jumps and lights out of sequence. A Helms manual would also have this info.
This works in most cases when the SRS fuse has been pulled or something to that effect but if this method fails then you may actually have a problem w/ the SRS system in which case the light will not go off. It will also not go off if you have the airbags disabled.
