engine lift spots
k i wanna lift my engine out, just the engine not the engine and tranny, and i wanan know where the lift points are on just the engine not tranny.
and its an ls motor too

usually I will pull the drivers side mount and then place one chain on the stud and hold it on with a nut, and then use one bolt from the passenger side tranny mount, but since you aren't pulling the tranny with the engine....ya might want to use one of the transmission bolts in the block where the tranny would normally bolt up to. that should do it for ya.
i would use a tranny bolt but i cant use the tranny bolt without first lifting up the engine so i can get the botl to clear the tranny. i cant lift the engine up to even clear the tranny so i cant use one of thsoe bolts but thanks anyways
Much easier to take them out together.
I used a tranny mount bolt stuck in one of the threaded spots on the front, and then the starter bolt for the other side and attached the chain to those.

its hard getting it out with my ac lines in there plus i gotta take off my axles and everything. i mean its like if i could find engine spots i would just take out the engine but now i see its hard so ill just take the whole thing out

I usually wrap the chain around the engine a couple times. Wrapping around helps because then the engine won't dip on one side. I found out if you use the lifting points on the engine, when your lowering it the tranny side will lean farther down then the engine and it makes it harder lining up the mounts.
