Wastegate vac. hose size? Spool up time?
What size vac. hose is everyone running off of there wastegates? 8mm or 6mm? Would it matter as far as wastegate boost response using a smaller diameter hose? I'm thinking not, because vac. is vac and it wouldn't matter, but I'm also thinking that a smaller hose with send the air through quicker, thus effecting the spring sooner?
Currently I'm running .4bar (~5.8 psi) off of the Tial (on a DRAG GEN III GSR) and am reaching full boost around 4000 rpms. I feel as though I should be reaching full boost sooner. Next week I am taking out the stock cat. conv. and RSR exhaust and replacing it with a 3" high flow cat. and Thermal exhaust, hopefully this will help spool up. I'm also thinking that I may need to adjust my BOV a little. Should the BOV make a quick shuttering noise or a fluttering sound? Should the BOV make a distinct sound in vac as well as boost? Any other possiblities? I've checked all the vac. connections and I/C piping and everything looks good.
