GSR motor [OBD-I] using OBD-II engine harness in an OBD-2B car, what to do to get car running properly..
Car starts with an OBD-II --> OBD-I harness convertor to a OBD-i p72 ECU. No VTEC engaging, and speedo + tachometer does not work. Meter fuse was checked, and VSS was plugged in and working...
This swap worked in my friends 96 civic, I am just wondering what we should do dealing with the convertor harness'...
Cant really explain well, any questions to clear up just ask y0..

What car are you putting this in?
I'm assuming that you did a little rewiring at the distributor, which might lead to the reason why the tach isn't working properly.
Edit, okay, I think you're putting the GSR motor into a 99-00 civic. And you're most likely using the stock dx/cx harness and adding vtec, vtec pressure and a knock.
In that case, you had to rewire the dist. as the plugs are totally different. Trouble shoot that as I'm sure that's what your problem is. As for the speedo, I'm not sure. Seeing as it's not working, vtec won't work. So, check your vss again. Make sure you're getting power to it.. or from it.. whatever. Make sure there is no corrosing in the actual sensor. Any grease or coolant will cause it to malfunction. Cola (specifically Coke) will eat away at the corrostion and make it work fine..

there is also one harness that is left unplugged by the ECU...and the check engine light does not come on when the key is turned to the 2nd position..
When that plug was put in the, the plug that contains the wires for fuel injection were out and the check engine light came on the gauge cluster, but the car would not start...
