I think i was chipped, ECU problem need help
I finished my b16a swap in my crx si and the pwo ecu led stays on steady , and seems to hit a rev limiter at 4000 rpm and the car runs like crap.
I put a friends pr3 ecu in my car to test it and everything was fine so i opened up my pwo and it looks like on the back side of the mother board it was desolder around a chip and not soldered back i am guessing this is the problem
the chip in now looks origional, it has a st symbol and a circle in the middle of it
could it be a bad install or a fried chip or does it just need to be soldered or do i need a new ecu
thanks

Sounds like it was chipped, where did you get the ECU?
A electronics repair place may be able to resolder the chip and clean up the board. You could do it yourself if you like that sort of thing. If you do (try to fix it /have it fixed), you may want to put in a ZIF socket. That might not fix the ECU, but it is worth a try.

zero insertion force, they solder in the more durable ZIF socket, then plug in the more fragile chip. a ZIF socket requires less force on the chip to than a normal socket to get the chip seated. Just makes it easier to swap chips in & out.
