Smokes slightly.....
I found a 92 CX with 114k miles for $2k. The guy says it "smokes slightly". What exactly does that mean and will the motor hold up for awhile before I swap it? I need some input. Would you buy it? The body is in good shape. Thanks for the advice.
If it smokes slightly, that almost always mean its buring oil. Could be a little or alot, it depends. As long as its just a little smoking, it should hold up for a while, but I wouldnt get the car unless a motor swap or a rebuild is in the future.

my car used to smaoke a lot but it ran well for years b4 swapping out the motor, but if the smoke is a real issue for you just add a bottle of "no smoke" next oil change.
Could be a lot of things, worst case scenario would be shot rings. If it smokes just a little, then it should hold up fine if you don't push her too hard. Check your oil level every so often to make sure you aren't running the motor dry. You could also be burning coolant, we just need a little more detail on the smoke like when it starts smoking (only under WOT at high RPMS? At idle? All the time?) and also the color of the smoke.
