Motor is eating oil
Ok guys quick question. My motor seems to be eating oil somehow. It will be fine for about 2 weeks then after 2 weeks it will just have a quart missing. put a quart back in a nd watch it religiously everyday then 2 weeks come and what do you less 1 quart of oil. This has really got me boggled. I will never buy a car off ebay again. And for sure the swap will be done by myself or a reputable person/shop.
Has anyone ever had this issue. Let me know. TIA.

Re: Motor is eating oil (B18C1 '96 Coupe)
how many miles do you have on the motor and how is the motor running?? is it running good or is it making any noises?? do you have bad gas mileage??
if your motor is running a little rough.. do a compression check and post a reply about it~
also.. check the coolant.. is there enough and when was the last time it was changed??

could be many things, could be bad piston rings, bad seals, might want to have the person(s) who did the swap take a look at it.

32K miles. Coolant looks good not low not even from the reserve tank. Also none missing in the Radiator. No color smoke. Engine makes a TicK but after the oil change it considerable droped. Was told that was the injectors making noise. Car doesnt run rough at all. My CEL light is on but thats because my o2 sensors are hosed or not hooked up. Other than that it runs strong. And Vtec hits.

hard to say what it might be doing
however my 12.5 built motor eats oil alot also
compression pegged a 250psi tester
is there oil all over the back of the car?
my previous motor was like that and it turned out to be valveseals
fyi

HHMMMM Back of the car is black. But no oil on the bottom of car. Or coming out of the engine. My bro looked at the underneath ad he said it was clean. Valve seals. HMMMMM Let me search on how hard this is to acomplish myself.

Re: Motor is eating oil (djhatch)
definitely do a compression test as stated there
if the wet test brings higher numbers then rings are prob shot
it wont make a diff in my car as it pegged our tester
but if u have an oily black film on the back of your car i would say its valveseals
its blowing oil out the exhaust

Re: Motor is eating oil (00MRSi)
0w30 Mobil 1 Syn. There is a black film on the back of the car. i was it and it comes back. I was just thinking that is dirt but the more and more i read it sounds like valve seals. I hope it is something that easy because I got a honda certified tmechanic that is only charging me 40 an hour to do whatever i need. I jsut need to bring parts. The more and more i search and read about the valve seals the more i am thinking it is them. I checked this morning about the white smoke on start and it did. so i am almost positive it is them compresion test is being done tomorrow. so hopefully i will find out.
